Resistering Analysis Server

Hello,
I am trying to register an Analysis server from the Analysis manager and
getting this message:
"Unable to connect to registry on server computer"
The SQLServer and the Analysis services are on the same machine.
I am using an OLAP Administrators member account and I started the Remote
Registry NT service.
The SQLServer version is 2000 Developer edition without any service packs
on windows XP professional.
Any ideas?

Hello,
Are you able to connect to Analysis service locally from the same
machine?
Do you have a firewalls on the server machine? (please note if you
are using Windows 2003, you may activated the built in internet connection
firewall)

No I am not able to do this, My OS is Windows XP Pro SP 1 and I am not using
firewalls
